Refactored Media | Senior Designer

2021-Current

Refactored needed a design team, and I was here to mold it for them. I used my experience and knowledge of industry best practices to train my team and to elevate the creative offerings in every part of the design department.

Equator Design | Senior Designer

2016 – Current

In this role I managed and designed multiple concepts for our private label and national brand clients. Brands I have worked with include (but not limited to): Kraft, Walmart, Sam’s Club, Jell-O, Heinz, Aldi, Giant Eagle, Tyson, Domino Sugar and C&H Sugar. Categories I’ve designed packaging for include Liquor/Wine, sugar and baking goods, frozen food innovation, canned fruit, fresh produce packaging, fried chicken and more. This role required strategy and designs for large and small SKU ranges, with a system for product claims and branding hierarchy outlined and established in stage one of a project. Within a project I am responsible for sketching/photo-comping shots for photo direction, creating a presentation deck with market research and mood-boards (2-3 concepts and boards minimum) as well as sign off from our Production department as to the printability/possibility of my designs. I work tightly with production from day one of a project to ensure successful execution of desired artwork prior to client presentations. This requires knowledge of print processes across a wide range of substrates and am able to build clean and executable files for any project. I also am in a position of Art Director for every project I design, allowing me to ensure photography or illustration work is properly executed by our Photo teams. If there is illustration work required, I contribute my own illustration pieces or source art/artist for the selected design.

502 Media Group | Experience Designer

2014 – 2016

In this position, I handled the initial research and design of a client’s new website or branding project. This involved content audits of their current brand/brand guides, website, social presence, and research into the native experiences of the target users. From that information, I then worked with a team to develop brand paths and concepts, as well as initial site designs to start evolving the brand. We spent at least a year with each brand covering every corner of their business with refreshed strategy, online ads, marketing pieces, and website designs to push their brands forward.

Resilience Chicago | Volunteer Medical Advocate

2018 – Current

Outside of work, I’m active in the community I live in, and received certification for Crisis Intervention Counseling, with a focus on Survivors of Sexual Assault. This allowed me to take the position of Medical Advocate Volunteer at Resilience Chicago, where I fought for the rights of survivors in the emergency room with any of the institutions they would encounter; Chicago Police, Nursing staff, fellow Advocacy Staff, as well as survivors employer, school, family unit etc. I was in charge of making sure the survivor was in the drivers seat during the duration of their time in the ER, and would create safety plans for them post hospital visit.
